Outreach Services and Community Legal Education

Outreach:

The Centre recognises that there is a great need for free legal advice and assistance not only in Inala, but also in the greater south west Brisbane area, and in particular in the Inala to Ipswich corridor. Residents of this wider community often have difficulty in arranging transport to attend at Inala. To meet this need we conduct outreach services at Booval and Goodna for those clients who have difficulty in traveling to Inala.

Booval and Goodna:

A solicitor from our Inala office visits the Booval Community Service on Wednesday mornings between 9.30am and 12.00pm and the Goodna Neighbourhood Centre on Friday mornings also between 9.30am and 12.00pm. Community Legal Education:

The Centre offers its services to community groups in the South West Brisbane and Ipswich areas to increase the legal knowledge of the general public. In the past our solicitors have been guest speakers at a number of community group meetings speaking on topics such as:

• Wills;
• Power of Attorneys;
• Advanced Health Directives;
• Divorce;
• Domestic violence;
• Fences;
• Employment issues;
