DECEMBER 2007 The Child Protection Information Kit for Parents, Community Workers and Kinship Carers has been updated Download below General Information The South West Brisbane Community Legal Centre (SWBCLC) currently provides information and advice to parents and guardians who have had their child/ren removed or are likely to have their child/ren removed by the Department of Child Safety. If you are a parent or guardian who would like advice on a child protection matter please contact SWBCLC for an appointment. Child Protection Information Kit The SWBCLC has developed Child Protection Information Kits on Child Protection For Parents; Community Workers; and Kinship Carers.. These are general information kits. They are basic guides about rights and obligations for parents, community workers and kinship carers under the Child Protection Act (QLD) 1999. They outline rights and obligations for each group, court processes and tips for negotiating with the Department of Child Safety. You can download these kits on this page. These kits have just been updated (as of December 2007 ) so if you have an earlier version please have another look. Also note that there are 2 versions of each of the kits: one graphic version and one Microsoft Word version which will be easier to download if you have a slower computer. Graphic version and MS Word version are both available.
